If you have questions, contact us at hello@defaultparent.co.uk.

How We Use Information

  • To create and manage your account and persistent sign-in session.
  • To show the correct family, children, routines, Today tasks, widgets, Live Activities, and history.
  • To sync changes between adults in the same family.
  • To send account emails, password reset emails, and family invite emails.
  • To send family notifications when you choose to enable them.
  • To verify subscriptions and unlock Premium for the whole family.
  • To understand app usage, diagnose errors, improve reliability, and prioritise product improvements.

Services We Use

Default Parent relies on trusted service providers to operate the app:

  • Better Auth for authentication and session management.
  • Neon Postgres and Drizzle ORM for secure database storage.
  • Render for hosting the Default Parent API.
  • Resend for transactional emails such as invites and password reset emails.
  • Apple and Google for app store subscriptions and in-app purchase processing.
  • Expo and Apple Push Notification service for push notifications.
  • Sentry for crash reporting and error diagnostics.
  • PostHog for product analytics and usage insights.

Analytics, Diagnostics, And Tracking

We use analytics and diagnostics to understand whether important flows work, such as creating a family, adding routines, sending invites, enabling notifications, and starting Premium. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use third-party advertising tracking in the app.

Data Sharing

Your family data is shared with adults who are members of your family in Default Parent. We do not make your family routines public. We may share data with service providers only as needed to run the app, process subscriptions, send emails, deliver notifications, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.

Children's Information

Default Parent is made for parents and guardians, not for children to use directly. Parents may add child profile information and routines so the household can coordinate care. Please only add information that is useful for the shared family routine.

Data Retention

We keep account, family, routine, subscription, and history data while your account or family remains active. Some operational records may be retained for security, support, accounting, subscription verification, or legal reasons.

Your Choices

  • You can update family, child, parent, and routine details in the app.
  • You can disable notifications in your device settings.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
  • You can contact us to request help with account or data deletion.
